Fan Not Working

If your ceiling fan or standing fan isn't working properly, follow these steps.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check the power - Make sure it's plugged in or the wall switch is on
  2. Check the circuit breaker - Reset if tripped
  3. Inspect the pull chain (ceiling fans) - Make sure it's not stuck
  4. Check the remote control batteries - Replace if needed
  5. Clean the fan blades - Dust buildup can slow the motor
💡 Pro Tip: For ceiling fans in summer, set blades to rotate counterclockwise for cooling.

When to Call a Professional

  • The fan wobbles excessively
  • It makes grinding or humming noises
  • The fan doesn't respond to the remote or wall switch
  • You see sparks or smell burning
